Licensing

You are buying a licence to use a design, not the copyright in it. The designer who made the file keeps ownership. You get a licence that is worldwide, does not expire, and cannot be transferred to someone else.

Unless a listing clearly says otherwise, that licence covers everything below.

• Cut, engrave and make the design as many times as you like
• Sell the physical items you make from it, at a market stall, in a shop, or in your own online store
• Modify the file, resize it, or combine it with your own work to make something new
• Use it on your own machines, at home or in your business

You do not owe the designer a share of what you make, and you do not need to credit them, although most are pleased when you do.

• Resell, share or give away the file itself, modified or not. The licence is for what you make from the design, not for the design as a file
• List the design, or a lightly edited version of it, on this or any other marketplace as your own
• Include the file in a bundle, subscription, membership or free download pack
• Claim you drew it, or register the design as your own trademark
• Share your account so other people can download purchases

The short version: sell the product, not the file.

Selling what you make is fine at the scale a maker works at. If you intend to manufacture at industrial volume, license the design to someone else, or use it as part of a franchise, contact the seller first and agree separate terms. If you are unsure which side of that line you are on, ask before you commit to a production run.

You keep the copyright in everything you list. By listing, you grant every buyer the licence described on this page, and you grant us permission to host the file, generate previews of it, and deliver it to buyers who pay.

You may state additional or narrower terms in your listing, and where they are clearly stated, they apply instead of the defaults here. You may not offer terms broader than you actually hold, for example by licensing a font or an image you do not have the rights to redistribute.

Some designs incorporate fonts, clip art or textures made by other people. It is the seller’s job to have the right to include them and to say so where the licence limits what you can do. If you find a listing that gets this wrong, tell us.

Redistributing files ends your licence to them and may end your account. It also exposes you to a claim from the designer directly, because the copyright is theirs, not ours.
